The Income Tax Department has asked taxpayers to update their information on its e-filing portal-

The IT department wants the existing tax payers to login to their online accounts and update their information.

The latest info needed is personal and secondary email/mobile number, address and bank account details.

The taxpayer will then get a One Time Password or OTP to verify and further process the details.

One Time Password or OTP will be sent over the email and through an SMS over the phone.

IT department officials have said that the details are needed to communicate in a better way with the tax payers.
