Support Sightsavers’ project to remove avoidable blindness
With 12 million blind people in the country, India is said to have one-third of the world’s blind population.
A non-government organisation, Sightsavers, is working to remove the avoidable blindness through its latest campaign ‘Mission Vision’.
The campaign’s aim is to create awareness among the people to donate towards the eye restoring operations and treatments.
Sightsavers hopes to change the attitudes and policies affecting eye health and the rights of the affected people.
It also empowers disabled people to speak up for their rights by working with the blind or disabled people’s organisations.
So far, the organisation has supported the treatment of millions of people with eye disorders and educates or trains blind people in more than 30 countries worldwide.
