Men living in urban areas suffer more hypertension than women, says study
A new study says that men in city areas suffer more from hypertension than woman and this is found highest in Kerala.
Hypertension, also known as high blood pressure, is a condition in which the force of the blood against the artery walls is too high.
The study showed that around 16% of men in the country smoke tobacco and 30% drink alcohol.
As per the report, around 31% of urban men suffer from hypertension as compared to 26% women. Nearly 22% of men suffer from diabetes, compared to 19% women.
Being overweight, obese, lack of physical activities, abnormal high levels of any or all lipids in the blood are the main causes of the health condition.
