Disabled woman starts a support group for amputees
Hema Subhash lost her leg in a car accident in 2010 when she was coming out of a bus that started moving before she fully got off.
Sadly, Hema’s leg was crushed and doctors had to amputate it because of the damage. This left her completely shocked.
However, her then boyfriend was supportive and moved from the US to be with her in Bengaluru.
Hema’s boyfriend proposed her despite knowing her disability and they got married the next year.
In 2013, Hema and her husband were blessed with a son. After some years, Hema started a support group for amputees.
Hema is now on a journey of self-discovery and promotes disability rights through her group.
