India ranks as the worst country in the world for selfie deaths
India ranks as the country with the world’s worst record for selfie deaths, says a report.
A study by researchers in Delhi has found that 76 of the 127 reported selfie deaths across the world from March 2014 to September 2016 has occurred in India.
Recently, three college students were killed by an express train while taking photographs of themselves on track in Karnataka.
Last year, three students died while trying to take a selfie in front of an approaching train in northern India.
The government has asked states to make sure that there are warning signages at tourist places believed to be dangerous to prevent selfie deaths.
