Modi government’s schemes to be highlighted in movie screenings
The government plans to spread more awareness about its schemes using the big screen to convey public interest messages to the viewers.
It wants to broadcast initiatives such as anti-smoking, cleanliness campaigns, digital payment services, removing open defecation, female literacy through advertisements ranging between 30 to 60 seconds during film screenings to reach out to the movie-goers.
At present, all movies have anti-smoking messages in the start of the films and during intervals.
It is reported that the idea was planned by the Shyam Benegal committee that was set up to suggest improvements in the central board of film certification, also known as the censor board.
