Children who find it difficult to read may have unidentified hearing problems
A new study says that 25% of the kids who had difficulty in reading suffered hearing impairment.
As per the research done in the UK, more awareness about the children’s hearing problems can help them to receive more organised support and improve their reading and writing skills.
The research compared children with dyslexia to children who had a history of repeated ear infections to check if they had a same problem of literacy difficulties.
It found that children who suffered from repeated ear infections and related hearing problems have unbalanced access to different speech sounds which affects their ability to learn to read.
