Parivartan café is run by people treated for mental illness
On the occasion of the World Mental Health Day on 10 October, a unique café has been started in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
The café is called Parivartan and has been opened in the campus of the Government Hospital for Mental Health, Shahibaug.
The café employs people who have recovered from their mental illnesses in the hospital.
Currently, seven people are working in the café, six of whom suffered from schizophrenia and one who was affected by depression.
Parivartan has been set up with a aim of changing the view of society about people with mental illness.
People in India are still not open minded about mental issues and avoid getting treatment on time.
