World Antibiotic Awareness Week

World Antibiotic Awareness Week is to be observed from 13 to 19 November 2017.

Over use of antibiotics is harmful for the body.

Too many antibiotics taken without any need can make the body immune to their effect.

Due to widespread use of the antibiotics, deadly disease such as pneumonia, tuberculosis, and gonorrhea are becoming harder to treat.

This is because the antibiotics used to treat them have become less effective.

It is advised that people should not take antibiotic medication without the instructions of a doctor.

Through the week, awareness events and campaigns will be held to educate people about the harm that overuse of antibiotics is causing to health.
