Coming soon, a café run by autistic youth in Mumbai

In a very positive move, Yash Charitable Trust (YCT) in Mumbai has decided to open a café called ‘Arpan’ to give a different future for people with autism and Down Syndrome (DS).

The first-ever café in the city will be run by 12 autistic youngsters who will deliver people nutritious meals prepared by them.

People with developmental disabilities are generally viewed by the society as those who cannot work or earn and the initiative aims to change these attitudes and promote inclusion.

The officials of the trust have provided training to the youngsters on how to cook, buy grocery and handle everyday things confidently.

They now plan to raise funds to get more number of people and start the cafeteria.
