Diyas made by disabled people in Bengaluru
Members of the Parents Association of Persons with Cerebral Palsy and Associated Disorders (PAPCP) are busy getting the diyas ready for the upcoming Diwali festival.
The NGO based in Bengaluru runs a school for specially challenged people who have used their art skills to make crafts for Diwali.
The NGO buys painted diyas from a Kolkata-based potter.
Students at the centre decorate them with mirrors, glitters and gemstones, and then fill them with wax and pack them.
The NGO trains the disabled people with issues like Down's syndrome, cerebral palsy, autism, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and associated multiple disorders.
The training is not easy and takes time and patience.
