Sensex closes 24 points down, Nifty settles below 10,300
The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty were trading low on Wednesday due to strong foreign fund outflows and lower-than-expected quarterly earnings by some bluechip companies.
The BSE Sensex closed 24.81 points down at 32,584.35 while the NSE Nifty closed 23.60 points down at 10,210.85.
The top three Sensex gainers were Reliance (+4.52%), Power Grid (+4.00%) and Wipro (+1.92%).
The top three Sensex losers were Axis Bank (-9.52%), ICICI Bank (-3.96%) and Cipla (-3.26%).
The top three Nifty gainers were Reliance (+4.81%), Power Grid (+3.88%) and Indiabulls Housing Finance (+2.89%).
The top three Nifty losers were Axis Bank (-9.38%), ICICI Bank (-3.80%) and Infratel (-3.66%).
Markets will conduct a special ‘Muhurat’ trading session tomorrow to celebrate the festival of Diwali between 6.30pm and 7.30pm.
