International meet discusses the issue of vision loss caused due to diabetes

The Brussels-based European Alliance for Personalised Medicine (EAPM) recently held a international meeting at London's Houses of Parliament.

The meeting was a part of an ‘ORNATE India’ project, which aims to solve the problem of blindness due to diabetes in India.

The international meet was attended by health experts and researchers from UK and India.

Vision loss affects millions of people all over the world and the number of people getting affected by visual impairment is expected to increase.

This is due to the ageing population and diabetic retinopathy, which is the most common cause of vision loss among people with diabetes.

Experts said that early finding, timely treatment, and proper follow-up care can help to protect against loss of vision in diabetes patients.
