Sensex closes 116 points up, Nifty settles above 10,000
The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty were trading up on Monday due to strong global market conditions.
Also, telecom stocks gained after Reliance Industries Ltd’s unit Jio increased data tariffs last week.
The BSE Sensex closed 116.76 points up at 32,506.72 while the NSE Nifty closed 38.30 points up at 10,184.85.
The top three Sensex gainers were Bharti Airtel (+4.99%), Reliance (+3.05%) and Wipro (+1.90%).
The top three Sensex losers were Cipla (-2.38%), Axis Bank (-2.27%) and HDFC (-1.52%).
The top three Nifty gainers were Bharti Airtel (+4.92%), Ultracemco (+4.11%) and Reliance (+3.32%).
The top three Nifty losers were Cipla (-2.58%), Infratel (-2.40%) and Axis Bank (-2.28%).
