India's first adventure sports academy in Andhra Pradesh

India's first adventure sports academy will be set up at Gandikota in Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh.

The academy will be used for the promotion of adventure sports on land, water and air.

Once the academy is started, three locations would be selected to organise the sporting activities on a larger scale.

The adventure sports academy will be built by the AP government with the help of Shekhar Babu Bachinepally.

Bachinepally is behind the successful training of several mountaineers in India. The project is expected to cost Rs 271 crore.

The state government is hoping that the project will promote adventure tourism in Andhra Pradesh.
