Sensex closes 435 points up, Nifty settles above 10,200

The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty were trading up on Wednesday as banks rose high after the government released a Rs 2.11 trillion recapitalization plan.

Also, construction stocks improved after the government approved an Rs 6.92 trillion investment plan.

The BSE Sensex closed 435.16 points up at 33,042.50 while the NSE Nifty closed 87.65 points up at 10,295.35.

The top three Sensex gainers were SBI India (+27.58%), ICICI Bank (+14.69%) and LT (+5.65%).

The top three Sensex losers were Kotak Bank (-5.43%), HDFC Bank (-3.79%) and HDFC (-2.60%).

The top three Nifty gainers were SBI India (+26.92%), ICICI Bank (+14.56%) and Ultracemco (+5.75%).

The top three Nifty losers were Indiabulls Housing Finance (-5.49%), Bajaj Finance (-5.16%) and Yes Bank (-4.89%).
