Diagnosis of Alzheimer's at an early stage is difficult, says study
A new study says that early scans such as Computed Tomography (CT) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging do not help to know that the grey areas of the brain will later have the development of Alzheimer's disease.
As per the doctors, early diagnosis of Alzheimer's is tough as most patients living in cities in India seek medical help when they are at a very advanced stage of the disease.
This is because symptoms of forgetfulness, irritability, anxiety and misbeliefs are taken to be a natural sign of becoming old.
Only when daily activities such as not eating meals on time, forgetting one's family members and other such symptoms develop, the family goes for medical checkup.
The study suggests the importance of taking help of full time caregiver to make sure the patient's living habits are clean and healthy.
