Meet Kartik Sawhney who aims high despite disability
Kartik Sawhney is a computer science graduate and currently doing his masters at Standford University. He is among the many Indian students studying in the US but what makes him unique from others is that Kartik is blind.
His disability was seen as a disadvantage by the IITs of India, but Kartik did not give up.
He decided to attend Standford, where he works as a president of a student group that spreads awareness about disability.
He also works at the NextBillion.org, which helps students with disabilities find mentors and jobs.
He is the founder of the project STEMAccess, which converts technical information into formats accessible to blind students
Kartik now aims to become a software developer and create apps that are accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities.
