Over 180 disabled people waiting for pension in Tiruvanamalai, Tamil Nadu
More than 180 people with disabilities have been waiting to receive their government pension.
182 disabled people have not been given the government pension for several months in Tiruvanamalai in Tamil Nadu.
Despite their applications and plea to the concerned office, they have not received the money due to delay in sanctioning of funds.
The plight of the disabled people raises questions about the effectiveness of government’s commitment towards their welfare.
Activists claim that the situation is similar in other parts of the state as well.
Under the pension scheme for people with disabilities, the State government gives a monthly financial aid of 1,000 rupees.
