Inspiring! Kerala villagers unite to raise money for kidney transplant of a worker
People from two villages in Kerala came together to collect funds for the kidney transplant of 45-year-old Kulathuparambil Jayan from Tamil Nadu.
The villagers went door to door and covered around 2000-2500 houses to raise Rs 11 lakh for Jayan.
A month-long motivational sessions were held to encourage people to contribute to the cause as much as possible.
It shows how the villagers overcame all political and religious barriers to help Jayan, who has been ironing clothes in the village for the last 20 years.
His wife will be soon donating one of her kidneys as she is a matching donor.
