Shocking! Alzheimer's disease found in dolphins for the first time
Alzheimer's disease was known to affect only older people but a new study says that dolphins' brains also has shown symptoms of the disease.
The study for the first time has shown that Alzheimer's disease can affect the brain of animal group.
In the research, an international team found the bodies of dolphins who had died on the Spanish seashore.
As per the team, this is likely related with insulin function.
Insulin is responsible for controlling blood sugar levels and process insulin signalling.
Insulin signaling can help to increase the life duration beyond the reproductive years. But it also increases the risk to diabetes and Alzheimer’s disease.
