Supreme Court suggests separate schools for disabled children in UP
The Supreme Court has asked the Uttar Pradesh government why separate schools cannot be started for disabled children in the state.
The court was hearing an appeal about the problem of lack of special educators for students with autism, blindness and deafness.
The court said there is a need for a separate system as it is not possible to include disabled children in regular schools.
The state government officials said that disabled children were being taught with children without disabilities under a new scheme.
The idea was to improve the confidence and prevent loneliness among disabled children in regular schools.
