Short film series encourages people to accept dementia
‘It’s Not a Disgrace, It’s Dementia’ is a series of films launched on DVD for the Hindi-speaking group in Australia.
The idea is to encourage people accept dementia as a health condition and not as a normal process of getting old.
The 11 films in the series of 15 minutes each aim to spread awareness about dementia.
It also hopes to remove the wrong beliefs and shame that often exist around dementia.
The short films feature caregivers of people living with dementia sharing their experiences in Hindi alongwith health professionals who talk about the condition.
