The research was done to understand the importance of walnuts in disease prevention and keeping a healthy life.
Walnuts in diet may improve thinking and memory skills in normal individuals. It can reduce the risk or delay the development of mild cognitive impairment and dementia in Alzheimer’s disease.
The study suggests including fruits, vegetables, legumes, whole grains and nuts in daily diet to make heart healthy.
Walnuts are the only tree nut to have lot of the plant-based omega-3, alpha-linolenic acid, required by the human body.
