Blind cannot identify new Rs 50 note, says petition filed in HC
A petition has been filed in the Delhi High Court highlighting the issue of the rights of the visually impaired people.
The PIL says that the blind people cannot differentiate the new Rs 50 currency notes, which were issued on 18 August.
The bench has released a notice and informed the Centre and RBI to file their responses in two weeks.
The further hearing of the matter will be on 6 December.
The plea has claimed that the new Rs 50 notes do not have any identification mark for visually impaired persons to understand the difference between currency amount.
