Manohar Parrikar says he tried to work on issues of disabled soldiers as defence minister
Former defence minister Manohar Parrikar said that he tried his best to address the issues faced by soldiers who became disabled in the line of duty during his term.
Parrikar who is the current chief minister of Goa, spoke at a run held in Panaji.
He said it was great to sacrifice one's life for the country, but the aim should be to kill the enemy and not to get killed.
He also appreciated the sacrifices and work done by soldiers in protecting the country's borders.
The event was organised by Major (retired) DP Singh, a Kargil war hero and the country's first amputee marathon runner.
