Manipur government to introduce a special scheme for the disabled
Manipur Chief Minister Biren Singh has announced that his government plans to introduce new schemes for the poor and the needy.
Also, there will be a new health insurance scheme to provide financial help of Rs 2 lakh for people under BPL who cannot afford medical treatment in the state. The scheme will be introduced on 1 January, 2018.
Singh informed that a special government scheme will be started for the disabled people of the state. It will provide a monthly stipend of Rs 1500.
Other facilities for the disabled include free education to the disabled students and no ticket charge for people with disabilities travelling in state public transport.
