Virender Sehwag supports wheelchair basketball players in Hyderabad

Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu lifted the winners’ trophies in the men’s and women’s categories at the 4th National Wheelchair Basketball Championship held in Hyderabad.

Former cricketer Virender Sehwag attended the grand finale and supported the wheelchair basketball players who participated in the event from all over the country.

Sehwag said it is our responsibility to motivate sportspersons with disabilities. He believed doing so will help find talented players who can win in Paralympics and get medals for the country.

More than 200 men and women wheelchair basketball players took part in the national event for the first time.

The event was organised by the Wheelchair Basketball Federation of India, along with the International Committee of the Red Cross, Australian Aid, the Sports Authority of Telangana State and Cognizant.
