Aadhaar card of a disabled man sent by post, government tells High Court

The government of India has told the Calcutta High Court that the Aadhaar card of a disabled man has been sent by post.

27 years old Sanat with cerebral palsy will receive the Aadhaar card at his home within some days.

Sanat has 83% disability and he cannot sit or look straight and stretch his fingers.

Recently, the Aadhaar officials had visited Sanat's house and completed the retina scan and fingerprint.

This is after Sanat's mother filed a petition to the court asking the government to take steps to get her son's Aadhaar card made.

The UIDAI officials have set up a cell to deal with such cases. Once a complaint is filed in the cell, it will be solved within four working days.
