Nitin Gadkari suggests urine banks in India
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has suggested that to produce urea in large quantities, human urine banks should be set up in the country.
He said that the urine can be used as urea and this will reduce the import of fertilisers in the country from abroad.
Nitin Gadkari also suggested that the government can buy the urine from farmers for ₹1 per litre.
He also mentioned that a plan is already being worked out in this regard with the help of Swedish scientists.
The minister said that human urine contains nitrogen that gets wasted and can be utilized as fertilizer.
