Mumbai man sent to jail for keeping a disabled boy as domestic help

Sunil Shah, a 56-year-old man living in Mumbai, was denied bail by the court after it was proved that he got a disabled child from Bihar to Mumbai under the excuse of giving him medical treatment, but had actually forced him to get into domestic work.

The boy, who is just seven years old has a handicap in his right hand. Shah took advantage of his poor financial state and lied and said that he would get him medical treatment and enroll him in school. Instead, the boy was doing household work in Shah's home in Mumbai.

The child told the police that he was forced to do household work, a charge that Shah denied. He said that the child was working at the home willingly.
