Pingalwara Charitable Society to provide quality education to the deaf
The All-India Pingalwara Charitable Society has opened four schools to promote deaf education in Ferozepur district of Punjab.
The special feature of the classes is that sign language is being taught in Punjabi to the deaf students.
Also, special interactive sessions for parents are held to make them understand the sign language taught to their children.
The idea is to make sure that quality education is given to deaf students.
The officials of the institute also plan to give training to young girls to become special educators.
The institute will offer diploma in special education and diploma in educating hearing impaired affiliated to the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).
