Bill Gates gives $100 million to support Alzheimer's research
American businessman Bill Gates has decided to fund $100 million (£75 million) of his own money to support research into dementia and Alzheimer's disease.
The first $50 million of Gates' money will go to the Dementia Discovery Fund which works with experts to find a cure.
The second half of the funding will help to support the work of some startup companies that are doing research on Alzheimer’s, says the report.
Gates said that Alzheimer's and dementia is a growing memory-related problem all over.
He believes the focused research will help find a cure in ten years or in the future.
