Study suggests test for proper diagnosis of depression
A new study says that a simple 15-minute test can help a doctor understand if a patient has depression or bipolar disorder.
Most of the times, bipolar disorder is misunderstood as major depression. It is because the symptoms of the depressive phase of bipolar disorder are same as major depression.
The study suggests having a test that is cheaper and easy to use to make a difference between major depression and bipolar disorder.
The research was done on 64 adults with major depression and 37 adults with bipolar disorder who went through electrocardiograms.
