Diagnosis of dyslexia in India equal to world standards, says British researcher
The British Dyslexia Association said that the screening tests developed by Indian researchers for identifying dyslexia are as per the international standards.
A leading international researcher in dyslexia and other developmental disabilities along with Madras Dyslexia Association organised a training workshop for the parents of dyslexic children and educators.
Problems faced by people with dyslexia in learning languages, general dyslexia and how to skill dyslexia children were the main points discussed in the workshop.
People with dyslexia cannot be thought as disabled as dyslexic persons have high level of creativity, said the British expert.
Major problems faced by dyslexics in India are no grade retention policy and poor funding for education.
