Aadhaar, mobile linking process made easy for disabled & elderly

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has made the process simple for linking mobile phone numbers with Aadhaar.

The new process is said to be started from 1 December. It will specially help senior citizens and the disabled who can do the linking process sitting at home.

The UIDAI has given new instructions to telecom companies such as Airtel, Vodadone, Idea Cellular and Jio.

The idea is to allow mobile users to get a one time password (OTP) on their mobile phones.

It will help users to complete the linking process using the mobile service company website or its Interactive Voice Response (IVR) service.

The last date for linking Aadhaar with the mobile SIM card is 6 February 2018.
