Coles Supermarkets starts autism-friendly shopping hour in Australia
Supermarket company Coles has started Quiet Hour program at around 70 stores in Australia.
The program includes reducing noise and distractions to make shopping easier,/mark> for autistic customers.
Steps to make shopping soothing for people with autism
The store lighting will be dimmed by 50%, radio will be switched off, announcements will be stopped and volumes will be reduced to the lowest level during the Quiet Hour.
Also, extra team members will be made available to support customers with autism.
The Quiet Hour program will be offered every Tuesday between 10.30 am and 11.30 am at one store in every region across Australia.
