A dustbin that links to Aadhaar & generates points for waste disposal!

Prisita Preetam, a Class 11 student in Odisha has designed a dustbin that can be linked to Aaadhar and generate points for waste disposal.

Prisita, who studies at the DAV Public School in Chandrasekharpur, created a prototype of an Aadhaar-linked dustbin and was selected for the 105th Session of the Indian Science Congress to be held in Hyderabad in January 2018.

The dustbin uses a sensor to detect waste disposal, which then prompts a command for Aadhaar biometrics verification. Once the fingerprints match successfully, the person disposing waste will get reward points.

Prisita wants to encourage more and more people to use dustbins to dispose of garbage and create alerts for the civic administration in case these disposal bins are not cleared on time.

She wants to support the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
