Virgin Atlantic starts inflight entertainment for the blind
Virgin Atlantic has become the first airline in the world to provide entertainment for visually impaired passengers.
The blind customers will now be able to access the inflight entertainment on specially modified iPads which include audio descriptions, large fonts, and consistent layout and controls.
Service available on routes to India as well
As per reports, the service will be available on Virgin Atlantic flights in North America, the Caribbean, Africa, China, India and the Middle East.
The airline also offers 'familiarisation days', in which aircraft visits are allowed to visually impaired visitors.
This helps them to understand the layout of the plane before they begin their actual trip.
Interestingly, Virgin Atlantic is the first airline that had launched individual screens on the back of each customer’s seat in 1991.
