Sensex closes 453 points down, Nifty settles below 10,300
The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty were trading very low on Thursday.
This is because the country reported a fiscal deficit of Rs 5.25 lakh crore ($81.36 billion) for April-October, or 96.1% of the budgeted target for the current fiscal year.
Also, investors were worried before the September quarter GDP data that will be released later in the day.
The BSE Sensex closed 453.41 points down at 33,149.35 while the NSE Nifty closed 134.75 points down at 10,226.55.
The top three Sensex gainers were Dr Reddy (+0.45%), NTPC (+0.36%) and LT (+0.04%).
The top three Sensex losers were Kotak Bank (-2.63%), SBI India (-2.54%) and Reliance (-2.42%).
The top three Nifty gainers were GAIL (+1.05%), Bosch Ltd (+1.04%) and Bajaj-Auto (+0.58%).
The top three Nifty losers were UPL (-3.36%), Hindalco (-2.88%) and Kotak Bank (-2.50%).
