Mahindra modifies electric cars for the disabled to support NGO initiative

Automobile company Mahindra Electric has donated three battery-driven cars under its CSR initiative to an NGO working for the physically challenged called Wheels of Change.

The NGO will use the customised electric vehicles called eVeritos as cabs under its initiative KickStart to enable the disabled to drive their passengers safely.

The battery-powered cars have been modified to install a swivel out mechanism on the front co-passenger seat. The electric cars have been redesigned so they can offer mobility for all, including the disabled.

The NGO claims to work towards making the world accessible to people with disabilities and promote inclusion of marginalised communities. The electric cabs can also be hired by wheelchair users and people who use crutches to visit public places like parks, toilets and open grounds.
