Two disabled Chandigarh women received National award from President
The president of India gave away awards to 67 people on the occasion of International Day of People with Disability, these awards were given for the contribution of these people in the empowerment of people with disabilities.
Two of the awardees belong to Chandigarh, Priyanka Saini and Shruti Hora.
They received the award in the category of Best Employees/Self Employed with Disabilities, at Delhi’s Vigyan Bhawan.
Priyanka works as a facilitator at the Tech Mahindra Smart+ Training Centre for Persons with Disabilities.
Priyanka is hearing and speech impaired since birth. Shruti Hora is blind and holds a PhD degree in music.
She is an associate professor at the Post Graduate Government College for Girls.
Both women have worked hard in life to overcome the challenges that came in their way.
