Disabled workers at Chandigarh hospital face hurdles at workplace

Around 100 employees with disabilities work at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research in Chandigarh, also known as the PGI.

The disabled employees work across where wings and departments of the huge institute.

However, the lack of accessible features causes them inconvenience on daily basis.

During a blood donation camp organised on the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the employees spoke about these hurdles faced by them at work.

The lack of proper infrastructure is inconvenient not only for the disabled workers but also for the patients with disabilities who visit the hospital.

There are no lifts and ramps in the administrative block.
