9-year-old makes music video on his autism, wins hearts on social media
George Yionoulis' teacher asked him to make a presentation in class to explain his autism. The 9-year-old boy was excited and went one step further. He produced a music video, which has gone viral.
George certainly had no intention of becoming a YouTube sensation but that is exactly what has happened.
"I'm a kid just like you."
In his six-minute video, George wanted to explain why he may respond to situations differently than others. But at the end of the day, he tells his friends - "I'm a kid just like you."
George loves music, dancing, Harry Potter books, and Minecraft. In his video, he explains that when people see him playing by himself it does not mean that he doesn't like to play with others. Its just that his personality may be a little different.
His mother was so proud of the video that she decided to upload it onto YouTube and her personal Facebook page. Within days, more than 23,000 people have watched the video on YouTube alone. You can watch it here too - https://youtu.be/YIK2yXfrCfw
George was diagnosed with autism when he was two years old when he did not talk. His mom hopes that the video will help other parents like herself and kids like George to understand that it's OK to be different. It can also teach others to be more inclusive.
