Facebook introduces messaging app for kids
Social network Facebook has introduced a new app that allows young children between six to 12 years to send messages.
The new free service is called Messenger Kids and it is currently available only for users in the United States.
The app allows parents to create a profile for the child as a part of their own Facebook account.
It then allows children to send photos, videos, text messages and make video calls. Children using the app can also add colourful pictures, drawings and sounds to the messages.
The company said it developed the messaging app for children that gives parents full control and helps children communicate with family and friends.
