Google plans to offer free Wi-Fi in Indian smart cities

Technology company Google plans to provide its free WiFi services to smart cities all over India.

Right now, 227 railway stations in India get high speed internet connection through Google stations, thanks to the company's Next Billion User initiative.

Pune will be the first smart city to get free high speed connectivity from the Google Stations initiative.

Social network company Facebook has also been providing Wi-Fi services in some villages across the country through its Express Wi-Fi initiative. However, Facebook charges users small amount such as Rs 10 a day for 300MB.
