Meet 126-year-old Ajiben from Rajkot, the oldest voter in the world
At 126 years of age, Ajiben Chandravadia from Rajkot is the oldest voter in the world. On Saturday she cast her vote in the Gujarat Assembly elections.
Ajiben, who has six daughters and a son, was accompanied by her family members to the polling booth where she cast her vote.
Ajiben' was born in 1891 according to her voter card, which makes her the oldest woman in the world. She does not use a walking stick, does not wear glasses and says she has never suffered any major illness. She also says she has voted in every single election.
Ajiben was a midwife in her youth and has delivered over 700 healthy babies. Rajkot has a high number of elderly voters and in a move to encourage them to vote, an event called ‘Coffee with Collector’ was organised.
