Chennai police introduce identity booklet for senior citizens

Mylapore police along with a local senior citizens' society in Chennai have started a senior citizen ID book that has all the personal information of the elderly person.

The police is giving the booklet to all the elderly people of the city to allow their family or relatives to help them in difficult times.

The idea to prepare the book for the elderly was started by a 62 years old social activist M V Ramani after he saw an elderly person lying on the road unconscious and later got to know that he was his neighbour.

The senior citizen identity booklet has space to paste a photograph of the elderly person and all personal details along with mobile numbers of their immediate family, friends and relatives.
