A transgender & acid attack victim assist in National Lok Adalat
In another unique initiative by Delhi High Court, a transgender and an acid attack victim sat as associate members on the National Lok Adalat held recently.
The Lok Adalats were held in all 11 districts in all the court complexes and were led by the judges or retired judges of district courts, Delhi along with associate members.
In order to create an inclusive society, transgender Neelmani Tiwari and acid attack victim, Kamar Jahan, sat as associate members in Lok Adalat benches in New Delhi district.
Neelmani and Kamar Jahar are from poor families and including them in Lok Adalat benches is a step to empower them and encourage the society to treat them equally.
