Kolkata's only internationally accredited run takes place this Sunday

The 2km run is called Champions with Disability and is one of the main elements that make the Tata Steel Kolkata 25K, partnered by The Telegraph, unique. It is also the city's only internationally accredited run.

This year's race will have specially designed toilets for the disabled with breakfast served in the holding areas while other participants will have to collect food from the counters.

A regular participant is Shudeep, who became paralysed in an accident from the waist down while be was studying in Bengaluru. He is accompanied in the races by his wife Marion, who is from Germany.

Shudeep said he liked the inclusive aspect of this race and said he got a lot of satisfaction from taking part.

Many NGO are registered with the charity arm of the race and are raising funds.
